Gloucestershire Steam Railway first day back a “sellout success”

The last train to leave Toddington station was on March 15th. and after five months of no service, the first train of “the new normal”  season departed promptly at 10 am and was sold out. The Old-style railway carriages of a sliding door and compartmentalised coaches allowed for family groups to travel in isolation within their family bubble of up to six people. There were so many positive comments: So good to be back and seeing steam again” “I hadn’t realised how much I missed the railway”. All passengers and railway volunteers are required to wear facemasks in line with government regulations, and everything is being done to ensure that the railway is safe. The 28 mile round trip from Toddington, via Cheltenham Racecourse and back through Winchcombe and return to Broadway is an ideal way of riding through the beautiful Cotswolds as seen in this 7820 Dinmore Manor as it speeds past Hailes Abbey station on its way to Winchcombe Station.
