Anglo Saxon village of Guiting Power

Guiting Power has a population of about 300. It was an Anglo Saxon Settlement dating back to the C8th. and named Gyting Broc. The Power is derived from the LePohers family who was lord of the Manor during Edward 111 reign in 1046 – 1066.

50% of the property in Guiting Power is owned and managed by the Guiting manor Amenity Trust.

In terms of amenities the village has two pubs: The Farmers Arms and The Hollow Bottom.

Two Churches : The Anglo Saxon St Micahaels and All Angels which is now a grade 11 listed building, and at the other end od the village The Guiting Baptist Church.

Also Guiting has a Post office, Guest House and a couple of shops.

From Guiting Power there are numerous walks including a walk to Bourton on the Water via The Wardens’ Way and close by  the famous Cotswold way at Winchcombe.
