Sample Local Donnington Beer on Tour

Sample a bottle of local Donnington Gold beer from the honesty bar at Donnington Brewery, where Thomas Arkell started brewing in 1865. The brewery flourishes today and has been owned by the Arkell family ever since. James Arkell now runs it after the death of Claude Arkell in 2007. Donnington mill dates back to 1291, was used as a cloth mill, and then was converted into two corn mills in 1580.

The Lake is the source of the River Dikler, which joins the River Windrush 6 miles away at Bourton on the Water. The Water Wheel is still operating, driving a few pumps and machines. The Brewery is in an idyllic situation providing craft beer to 17 pubs.
